Ten Shillings 1913-1966
With Australia's departure from the Gold Standard, notes were no longer redeemable in Gold. New "Legal Tender" notes were issued with a blank oval to display the watermark profile of the Prince of Wales. After the issue of the "Legal Tender" notes it was considered disirable to emphasise the note as a ten shilling note and not a half sovereign note.
